U.S. Chess Championships

Participants: 12 players invited based on rating, titles, and wildcards.

System: Single round-robin.

Time Control: 90 minutes / 40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest. 30-second increment from move 1.

Tiebreaks: Rapid playoffs (10+2) → Blitz (3+2) → Armageddon if needed.

The U.S. Chess Championship 2025 will be held from October 12–25, 2025, at the Saint Louis Chess Club in Missouri. The event brings together 12 of the strongest American players competing for the national title and a $402,000 prize fund.
