Grenke Freestyle

This tournament is a 9-round Swiss Freestyle Chess event. It differs from Classical Chess by the fact that your pieces are placed randomly before each round. Players in the Grenke Chess Open can switch to this tournament until Round 5, keeping their points. The winner qualifies for the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour – New York 2025.

Time Control: 90 minutes for the game + 30 seconds per move
