A Round‐Robin rapid stage (time control 10 + 5)

Followed by three knockout days (time control 30 + 15) to decide the champion.

The Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Final 2025 will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, from December 8 to 11, 2025, at the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve in the Western Cape. The event gathers eight of the world’s top grandmasters (including Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Vincent Keymer and others) to compete for the title of Freestyle Chess Champion 2025.
