System: Seven-round single-elimination; each match is best of two classical games, followed by a tie-break day.
Time Control: 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes to finish, with a 30-second increment from move 1.
Tie-break ladder:
1. Two rapid games, 15 + 10 s.
2. Two rapid games, 10 + 10 s.
3. Two blitz games, 5 + 3 s.
4. A blitz game, 3 + 2 s.
5. A blitz game, 3 + 2 s., with the colors reversed from the previous game.
6. If still a draw, it will be repeated until the first game is won by one of the players.
The 2025 FIDE Women’s World Cup will run from 5 to 29 July 2025 in Batumi, Georgia, bringing more than a hundred of the world’s strongest women players to the Black Sea resort for a high-stakes knockout that awards three coveted tickets to the next Women’s Candidates while sharing a $676,250 prize pool.
