System: Swiss, 11 rounds

Participants: 114 players.

Time control: 100 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for the next 20 moves, followed by 15 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.

The 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss will run from 3 to 15 September 2025 in 🇺🇿Samarkand, inside the modern Silk Road EXPO conference center. The event forms a key stage of the 2024-26 World Championship cycle: the top two finishers in the tournament qualify directly for the 2026 Candidates.
