Global Chess League

Participants: 8 teams (6 players per team, including male, female, and junior talent).

System: Double round-robin followed by a final.

Each team plays 10 matches.

The two teams with the best performance proceed to the final.

Time Control:

Rapid games: 20 minutes, plus 2 seconds after move 40.

Scoring:

Gamepoints (GP):

-Win with Black: 4 GP

-Win with White: 3 GP

-Draw: 1 GP

-Loss: 0 GP

Matchpoints (MP):

-3 MP for the team with more GPs in a match

-1 MP each if tied in GPs

-0 MP for the team with fewer GPs

The Global Chess League 2025 will take place in India from December 13 to December 24, 2025. This franchise-based, rapid chess league features eight teams, each composed of six players, competing in a high-octane double round-robin format.
