Participants: 12 players.

System: 12-player Knockout.

The four highest-rated players—Ding Liren, Yu Yangyi, Wang Hao, and Bu Xiangzhi—are seeded directly into the Quarterfinals.

Time Control: 15 min + 10 sec.

Tiebreaks: 2 games of 3 min + 2 sec, then Armageddon with white 5 min, black 4 min, and + 2 sec / move after move 60.

The third edition of the China Chess King Competition will take place in Chengdu, China, from August 23 to August 24, 2025. Featuring 12 elite players—including Ding Liren, Yu Yangyi, Wang Hao, and Ju Wenjun—this rapid-knockout tournament crowns the national chess "King."
