Participants: 16 teams, each consisting of eight players.
Structure:
The teams are divided into two groups (Group A and Group B) of 8 teams each.
Within each group, teams compete in a round-robin format.
The top 4 teams from each group advance to the "Poule Haute" (Upper Pool) to contest the title.
The bottom 4 teams from each group enter the "Poule Basse" (Lower Pool) to fight against relegation.
Time Control: Standard classical time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move starting from move one.
Board Composition: Each match is played over eight boards, with at least one board reserved for a female player.
The French Team Chess Championship 2025 Upper Pool consists of the top 8 teams from the initial 7 rounds of Group A and B. This pool will decide the winner of the 2025 French League.
