This tournament features a 10-player, single round-robin format. Players face each opponent once, making each game critical in the race for Grand Prix points.
Games are played under classical time control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the remainder of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move one.
The FIDE Women's Grand Prix 2024–2025 is a prestigious series of six chess tournaments organized by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) to determine two qualifiers for the 2026 FIDE Women's Candidates Tournament.
Each of the 20 selected players participates in three out of the six round-robin events, with each tournament featuring 10 players. The series started in August 2024 and will conclude in May 2025.
In each tournament, players earn Grand Prix points and prize money based on their performance. The overall standings are determined by the cumulative points across the three events each player participates in. The top two players in the overall standings will qualify for the 2026 FIDE Women's Candidates Tournament.
