Women's World Rapid Championship

System:

Rapid: 11-round Swiss tournament.

Blitz: Swiss qualifier followed by a knockout final for the top 4 players.

Time Control:

Rapid: 15 minutes + 10 seconds per move.

Blitz: 3 minutes + 2 seconds per move.

The Women's World Rapid & Blitz Championships 2025 is set to take place in Doha, Qatar, from December 25 to December 31, 2025. Featuring both rapid and blitz time controls, it attracts the world’s top players and offers a €1 million prize fund, divided between Open and Women’s sections. Winners in both disciplines will be crowned world champions.
