??MISTAKE??

Abdusattorov rushes to capture the white pawn, which was not necessary. He could have maneuvered his knight into a good position in the kingside, instead.

It always helps to win an extra pawn!

Even though Black still enjoys his initiative, White's small material advantage might come in handy in the ensuing defense.

A well-conducted game by Abdusattorov

Even though the game wasn't error-free, we enjoyed a good entertainment in the last Armageddon tiebreak game! Abdusattorov played impressively from the opening stage. Achieving equality, he achieved a crucial breakthrough in the center and gained the upper hand. Further weak moves saw Fedoseev even come to the brink of defeat. Needing just a draw in the Armageddon game to win he match, Abdusattorov just repeated moves in the end instead of trying to checkmate the opponent.
